Repentance

If you have not heard Derek Webb sing "I Repent" get out there and get his CD The House Show. The song that just ripped a hole in me this morning.

I have noticed that we are so quick to notice the BIG stuff. The obvious things that lead us to repentance. Derek does a great job in the song of bringing out so many areas that deserve full repentance but typically go unnoticed for years.

Singing to Jesus he says, "Of domesticating you to look just like me...I repent." WOW! Do people REALLY see Jesus in me? Do they see a self-less, undying passion to see people reconciled to the Father? What a great song. It will inspire you as it kicks your backside. The other side of pain is freedom. To truly confront the deep areas which need to be addressed is painful, but when done there is a new found freedom which drives us to a more Christ like life.
