Anyone who knows me, knows that I have a specific passion. Beyond my family, friends, Jesus and the church there is one thing that grabs me like nothing else.
Water skiing.
Last Friday I was meeting some friends at my favorite spot, Hilltop Lake. Tanya had to work so I was heading out around 9:30am although Scott and Allan would be there around 7:00am to get started early. I called Allan around 8:00am to confirm and could hear the others in the background having fun. Scott hit is 32 off and was excited.
So Tanya comes home, I get my gear loaded and pull out of the driveway. Then...
Allan called. Here is the first thing out of his mouth:
"Joshua, I am sorry. The boat is dead."
The problem was not huge, but would not be fixed by the time Andy and I got up to the lake.
I was fighting back tears as I assured Allan that is was not a big deal and that certainly he was more upset than me.
"Get the boat going, don't worry about me!"
Then I pulled back into my garage, unloaded my gear and went upstairs to pout.
What a bummer.
