An Email From My Mom

This is the actual text of an email from my mom. I love this and I read it a couple times.

Hi son

Right now our neighbor has our big black heifer at his place. The vet
is there to see if she's with child and if not can she get pg. Armon
has a bunch he's having tested also and it was his bull that got to
our Red. Well, actually, she jumped the fence and got to him. the
baby looks just like her daddy.

They say here that if a heifer was a twin of a bull when born, she
can't have babies.
We'll see if that's true.

Dad has been working out at the boys ranch. He looks forward to going
out there.

Yesterday, we had a going away luncheon for Dorothy Gourley. She's
moving to Idaho to be near her daughter, Karen McGuire.

I went to walmart and took some photo's and did a picture colouge (?)
of all her friends. It turned out pretty good.

That's about whats going on here. Love you, Mom

Sometimes I long for a much simpler life than I live. Usually I enjoy the pace and fullness of life in Seattle, but once in a while I think about a life like the one my parents live. What's going on with the cows, volunteering, church and community. The goal is to live in this beautiful city we call home and yet never lose sight of what is truly valuable. A good reminder for me; busyness does not equal valuable.
