Good Book for Planters

Just finished "Launch" by Nelson Searcy and Kerrick Thomas from The Journey Church in New York.

Not the greatest book in the world, but they do offer a bunch of very practical steps for the launch of a new church. They break down the launch process into the three sections:

1. Foundation

2. Formation

3. Implementation

They take a new approach to the "launching" of a church verses the traditional wording of "planting" a church. Searcy and Thomas use the approach of building a launch team of non-churched people from the community that will serve the purpose of launching the church and that's it.

The section that I found most helpful was the Implementation section where they address issues of growing the church, growth barriers and first year systems.

It takes a little to get used to the nauseating level of shameless self-promotion. But once you do, you will find a bunch of good stuff.
