This Sunday I am teaching on two of Jesus parables from Luke. Here is the text:
Text: Luke 13:18-21
18Then Jesus asked, "What is the kingdom of God like? What shall I compare it to? 19It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his garden. It grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air perched in its branches."
20Again he asked, "What shall I compare the kingdom of God to? 21It is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into a large amount of flour until it worked all through the dough."
Shoot me your thoughts on the passage. I would love your insight for this Sunday.

I see this passage showing the Kingdom of God enlarging in both examples given by Jesus.
When Jesus taught His disciples to pray He taught them, 'Thy kingdom come."
As things come closer toward us they become enlarged in our vision and eventually consume our field of view to the point that they are all we can see. If the Kingdom of Heaven is our focous and fully engulfs us by our prayers "Thy kingdom come."
Then we fulfill His will to be a place of 'rest' (Luke 13:19 the tree) and 'nourishment' (Luke 13:21 the dough) for those who ask, "What is the kingdom of God like?"
But notice there is only dough, not bread, what is yet needed? The fire of the Holy Spirit to complete the experience of the Kingdom of God and satisfy true spiritual hunger.
