14 Days!

It has been fourteen days since my last post. There is so much going on.

ABBY
Abby is growing and becoming more and more interactive all the time. In the beginning she was very HTML 1.0, very static, you pretty much just look at her and think, "Man that's amazing!". You all remember the early days of the web. Now she is up to at least 2.o, some user input but still very limited, a few animated GIF's, but still mostly looking and watching. I am getting excited for the new release with more user interaction. Although I do worry about the days when I look at her and she either repeats something I did previously or tells me what I would like to do with her. Tanya's best friend is in town from Chicago for the week. Last night a bunch of girls went out together for fun, leaving me at home with Abby. A little Daddy/Daughter time is always good. She was talking and playing more than I have seen her. I am smiling right now as I write this. Of course as soon as I hit the power button on the video camera she transitioned to tears. It was still an amazing night that made my month.

TANYA
I have the most amazing wife in the world. I remember thinking I was in love with a girl in High School. Man, I had no flipping idea what it is like to truly and deeply love someone with your whole heart. I have been so thankful for Tanya. As I watch her with Abby and as we talk through the good, the bad and the ugly of being church planting new parents I am overwhelmed with thankfulness. That God would be so kind and gracious to me, to give me such a wonderful partner is beyond my imagination. Being parents is hard. People tell you its tough and that stuff changes but they never really tell you how hard it can be. Trust me, it can be REALLY hard. It is worth it, but it is hard. I respect and love Tanya more than ever. If you don't know her, you should meet her, she is amazing.

CHURCH
We had our first gathering in our semi-permanent location. Rosa Parks Elementary in Redmond Ridge. It was awesome! The building is perfect for us. The staff and administration at the school are great people who are gracious hosts. Jeff Newport, the principal is a great guy to work with and he is so passionate about education, children and the use of arts in education. This Sunday was a great push on the momentum fly wheel. Very exciting and energizing. We are all looking forward to the grand opening on November 19th.
