We had a cool gathering this past Sunday night. It did not start off so cool when a few of us arrived at 4pm to start the load in and setup. I unlocked the community center where we are gathering and there was painters paper covering the floor. The entire floor! The smell of spackle and fresh paint was still strong. There were spackle patches all over the walls. The main gathering room was strong with the smell of fresh paint, the main children's room was full of painting supplies, I mean FULL.
So we made the call to hold our gathering out behind the community center in the wooded mini-amphitheater. It turned out to be a great night. Even though a possessed squirrel started chirping his very best mating call right in the middle of the talk and our grandmother neighbor was riding a mini-sport bike motorcycle around the park. Both very fascinating and cool events, just not what I expected to set the mood for our gathering.
The coolest part? I knew you would ask. God spoke so clearly. There was a very sweet God presence there with us in the park. Surrounded by the two family picnic gatherings and the sounds of nature, Jesus went to work on our hearts. It was awesome!
It was so encouraging to see the team adapt and overcome, as if they all had been through Marine boot camp. I went home thanking full to the rim with true joy.
Listen to the out takes of the squirrel.
