Sunday night Susie came to the gathering. She heard about Life at the Ridge through a friend. Brave soul came by herself and engaged. She is one of our neighbors in Redmond Ridge.
To quote the greatest rock band of all time; "That's what dreams are made of."
Coffee to the first one with this information about the quote:
- Band
- Recording
- Year Released
- Number of weeks on the Billboard chart
Good stuff.

The song is "Dreams" by one of your all time favorite bands Van Halen. It was from the album "5150" (named after Eddie's home studio). It was Sammy's first record with the band. It was released in 1986 and made it to No.1 on the Billboard Charts in 1986. I am not sure how long it stayed on the charts (probably a while).
It was the only song from "5150" that Van Halen released as a video. They had decided not to do any videos for the album, but the U.S. Navy "Blue Angels" were using the song during their flight demonstrations. When Eddie and Sammy saw them at an airshow they liked it enough to allow the flight team to use for a recruiting video. The folks at MTV got wind of it and used it - as is - on the air. Cool promo to teens for the Navy and a cool video for Van Halen - even if they didn't appear in it.
I must say, my favorite Van Halen video is still "Hot For Teacher" - and not because of the band (wink, wink)!
Jireh you are so close! The info is out there.
Chris, as a drummer hot for teacher was always one of my favorites. And thank you for the interesting back story on the video. I had not realized that this was the only video from 5150. Thanks for the feedback.
Umm... is it Queen or something?
Although, I don't think they would qualify as 'greatest rock band' ...
