Who ever came up with the idea of comment cards for businesses was both brave and genius. Brave because you may hear things you don't want to hear. Genius because the end user has perspective and experience that the provider will never see.
If you are brave and wise (proverbs 15:32 and many others), you will listen to feedback.
Tanya and I had a great meeting with someone from LATR last week. The best thing was that it was a safe place for this person to give some HONEST feedback. There were encouragements, which are always good. They let you know where you are hitting the mark. Although less fun to hear, the "areas of opportunity" can be the most helpful.
Here is one nugget from our conversation:
"It feels like the church is happening somewhere else throughout the week then on Sundays the rest of us come to watch." (paraphrase from memory)
WOW! OUCH! OH MAN!
That might be some of the best feedback we have ever received!!
This is from a person who has been with us for close to a year and STILL FEELS LIKE AN OUTSIDER!! CRAP!
So the third element to the comment card is action. What do you do with the data. We have to get crackin! I am excited about the potential for us to fully engage people now that we are more aware of a huge hole.

Josh-
Just curious is this person involved in any way besides just attending Sunday mornings? It seems like people who are not involved can "feel" like outsiders for a real long time.
You are right on the money Steve. That is what came to the surface in my mind. We are not doing a good job of friction free movement into connectivity with LATR.
This is quickly becoming a focus for us in this season as a church.
