Missional

Last week Dan shot out a quote in an email referring to style of music used in a missional church. It was an interesting quote and force me to think and reflect on our approach at LATR. My friend Mel responded with a couple great lines and really brought some good stuff to the table. Here is a short excerpt from his response:

"Being missional is about understanding who God has sent you too.

While I think Church planting and church growth is multifaceted and complex, and it is never really one thing. I generally think it is a smart leader who decides who God is calling them to reach and then picks a communication style and music style that they will connect with. If the music, no matter what the style is shallow or poor quality, I think it hinders the missional effort."
