A couple years ago a buddy of mine turned me on to Mark Batterson's blog - www.evotional.com
Mark is a great leader and thrives on creativity. He is one of the most active bloggers I have ever read, with tons of great leadership insights, church insights and other fun stuff. He blogged about prayer one time and used the quote which I posted at the top.
Moving into 2008, this has been on the top of my list. I recognize now more than ever that true life transformation is a miraculous work. We can work on behaviors, habits and help people get out of life ruts and confront deep internal issues, but true spiritual regeneration and transformation is just that, very spiritual.
At LATR we are passionate about seeing more lives changed this year than we experienced last year. We are being much more intentional about celebrating the steps people are taking in this adventure of following Jesus.
In order to move forward at the pace we sense God calling us we will have to work harder than we ever have before, developing new creative strategies to engage people in a deeper way and connect with more people who are not connected to Jesus or any church.
So we sit in this interesting position of recognizing our need to pray more and with more intentionality. We also recognize our need to work harder and with more intentionality.
We are working like it depends on us and praying like it depends on Him.
