Hmmm.... I guess that is one way to do it.

I have a habit of reading the business section when I can. It started in my High School economics class when I tried my best to develop of scheme to win at the fake stock trading asignment. When I was working in web development and marketing I would watch industry trends and follow the ebb and flow of the wild and crazy .com boom of the mid to late 90's. As I invested in a couple local companies I would check frequently to see how fast I was loosing money.

So old habits die hard.

Today I read a brief review of the recent Microsoft Shareholders Meeting which was held in downtown Seattle.

At the closing of the article I saw something interesting. The author referenced a local pastor who made a statement during the open mic at the meeting.

Here is the quote:
"Ken Hutcherson, the senior pastor at Redmond's Antioch Bible Church who previously called for a boycott of Microsoft for its support of gay-rights legislation, made a brief statement to start the question-and-answer session. He warned the company he plans to lead "a firestorm" of opposition because of its policies and declared he represents one of its "worst nightmares.""

The question I have for you is this; Is this a good thing? Thoughts?

It's interesting the question you phrased- "is this a good thing?"
That's different than is this an effective method of change? or something like that.

Let's think about how Jesus handled things... As far as I remember, Jesus only got in the face of the religious leaders. When he dealt with sinners he showed up, did miracles, and loved people.
however there were prophets who addressed the nation as a whole...

Ok, so I'm going to waffle on this one- I think Christians as a whole need to stand up for what we believe in. I believe that our religion should affect our politics. I believe that when Christ took the keys from Satan after His death, He restored dominion to us. Dominion Adam and Eve handed over in the garden. So we should rule the earth.
But I'm not sure open mic is the way to go. I'm not sure being someone's "worse nightmare" is the way either. I'd rather walk in God's power and wisdom and speak healing (spiritual and physical) into people's lives to the point that they want to "Follow me as I follow Him".
Ok, so there's my 2 cents- Josh, what do you think?
