Sunday Morning

Big Idea - Jesus demonstrates ultimate compassion and calls his followers to be people of compassion.

Over all good Sunday morning. One of those days where the leaders wonder what is going on but the rest of the crew most likely didn't notice much.

Jireh broke a string during the second song, and like a true warrior, he kept on cruising. Aaron brought his guitar up to help Jireh out. Small detail, he had tuned it down for a song he was singing later to lead into the talk. So Jireh starts the next song out, everything is going pretty, then like a train wreck the rest of the band comes in playing the key the song is written in, not the one Jireh is playing.

For those of you who don't know much about music, and the talk of keys doesn't register, let me give you a picture.

Take a live whale and drop it in a meat grinder. That will give you a good idea what it sounded like.

The Good Side - The band recouped from the crash and led us quite well through the remainder of the music. They did awesome!

One guy brought six friends yesterday! Are you kidding me? No! Six people.

I feel great when church people tell me they like LATR, but yesterday a brand new Jesus follower who has been to church three times in his life, all within the past couple months, told me he loves coming to LATR and he has been inviting friends. That is worth everything! To know we are engaging people in an effective way in that place in their journey is amazing. Again, that is why we do what we do.

I went home excited about what God is doing. He used both good and bad music to draw attention to himself and reveal his character to those who are disconnected. I think he likes the good music better, but he can use anything.

PTL, good to hear such reports of God's work there.
