What an amazing weekend away. It is so nice once in a while to get out of town, just the two of us and relax. We could not have asked for better weather, sunny and mid to high 30's.
Half way to Canada I realized I forgot my Columbia shell. I could not believe it. So we stopped at REI in Bellingham and I actually picked up a nice Northface shell for almost half off! I love it and I saved a ton of money.
On Saturday I boarded Whistler (First time, I have always done Blackcomb) while Tanya relaxed, read and knitted. We met up for a lunch break in the middle. You will notice in the video that there are pictures of just me, this is because I was alone.
I had a little adventure at the end of the day, a wrong turn put in Whistler Creekside instead of the main village, 2.7 miles away. With no phone and no wallet, I hoofed it in my boarding boots. I made in about 40 minutes. That put me at about 4.05MPH - not bad for being fully loaded in gear and carrying a snowboard. I guess those evenings on the elliptical trainer paid off.
Oh yes, did I mention it was GayWhistler week? Yup, pretty sweet. I did meet some interesting people on the lift that day. I really did.
I tell you what. There is nothing like standing at the top of a mountain on a clear sunny day. It was amazing up there! It truly does inspire worship. I had a good mix of Chris Tomlin, David Crowder, Lincoln Brewster, Coldplay, John Mayer, Gavin DeGraw, Duran Duran and a few others mixed in as soundtrack for the day.
** video notes - All pictures and video are done with my Octave 5in1 mini-camera. Editing is all done in MovieMaker rather than my native Premier, so please forgive the slop and uneven audio levels.

You two are the CUTEST! Oh, I guess you probably don't want to be considered cute; maybe what I mean to say is that you are the cutest together. :)
