Isn't it so interesting how emotionally charged a digital conversation can get. I know that after a terrible back fire about five years ago I have stopped using email, IM or text messaging for any serious conversations. It is so interesting how easily the written word can carry such heavy emotion. Why don't we have the same experience when ready a novel or news paper. I know that print can get us charged emotionally, especially good writing. But I think the nature of conversation carries so much more. We are not just reading opinion, but we are looking at someone through the virtual portal for the subtle nuance of non-verbal conversation. Most if not all of these imagined expressions are just that, imagined. I wonder how many of our emotionally charged digital conversations would be no more than a passing comment over coffee when sitting face to face.
Hmm....
