It was about two years ago during one of our Thursday night Oasis services I shared a dream I have to see the coffee joints of Seattle become places of worship. Not long after I mentioned this I started see more and more groups of people studying the Bible and talking about their own spiritual journeys.
Have you ever had one of those experiences where you are thinking about buying a new car, say a VW Jetta, then what seems like instantaneous explosion takes place and everywhere you go all you see is VW Jettas? I have to admit, I have been wondering if this simple "awareness factor" is the answer to what I have been observing.
No matter why I see it, I see it. Like these two guys sitting next to me at Starbucks this morning. I have noticed an emergence of people publicly loving Jesus. I have always been strongly opposed to public displays (especially when it involves junior high students) but this new style of public display brings me great satisfaction.
Mark 12:29-31
29Jesus said, "The first in importance is, "Listen, Israel: The Lord your God is one; 30so love the Lord God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence and energy.' 31And here is the second: "Love others as well as you love yourself.' There is no other commandment that ranks with these."
I hope you get together with some friends this week and display to the public your affection for Jesus.
